Introducing our speaker! Juan Whiting
Juan Whiting is a fourth-generation farmer and rancher and a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he did his Masters in International Agricultural Development and continued with graduate research in Plant Breeding and Genetics. He spent eight years in East Africa working at the intersection of agriculture, conservation, and how it related to conflict and development. His time there included founding and operating a farm management company that ran organic and regenerative production systems across Rwanda.
He serves as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, applying his expertise as an Agricultural Specialist in Civil Affairs to support critical missions focused on winning hearts and minds through sustainable food systems. As a grant professional, Juan has led hundreds of agricultural projects globally through his company, Stray Acres Consulting, securing more than $37 million in funding to date.
